Festival of Nations
The Festival of Nations, that each year promotes and spreads the musical culture of a specific nation, will pay tribute to Czech Republic in the 2018 edition.
The 51st edition, from Tuesday 25th August to Friday 7th September, will close the circle of the wide project devoted to the Great War, inaugurated in 2014 with the tribute to Armenia and developed in the last three years with focuses on Austria, France and Germany.
The schedule will consist of 18 main events and several side initiatives that will take place, in line with tradition, in the artistic places of Città di Castello and some of the most inspiring villages of the Upper Tiber’s Valley: protagonists will be the authors who characterized the musical history of the Czech Republic, from Bedřich Smetana, the Romantic soul of Boemia, to Leóš Janáček, through Antonín Dvořák and even less known authors, such as the violinist and composer Josef Suk, or contemporary musicians of the calibre of Pavel Sporcl and Ales Brezin.
