2017 Lightquake

When Christmas’ lights will turn on, in the towns of Spoleto and Gubbio there won’t be simple lightings but the artworks of the light’s artists that for the artistic project 2017 Lightquake will give life to the first exhibition of Light Art and Black Light Art in Umbria, by hosting Umbrian and international artists who have always worked with light.

 


A double exhibition appointment will involve the two towns from December onwards: from 6th December to 25th February 2018 the Black Light Art exhibition will occupy the rooms and the outdoor spaces of the Albornoz Fortress – National Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto. From 7th December to 25th February 2018 the courtyard and the narrow corridor of the Ducal Palace in Gubbio will be illuminated by the Light Art, with the artworks of Federica Marangoni and by the young Saverio Mercati and Stefano Frascarelli.

Furthermore, a lighting installation, created by the Umbrian artist Carlo Dell’Amico for the Clitunno Small Temple, will be inaugurated during the exhibition period, so to symbolically combine, through the light, two museums and a monument of the Umbrian Museum Complex.

The Lightquake artistic project was born to support the restoration of the cultural heritage damaged by the earthquake that hit the Central Italy.
