Typical Carnival’s sweet spread in various parts of Umbria

Mix flour, baking powder, seed oil, the lemon’s peel, sugar, aromas and liquors. Knead all thoroughly for some minutes, so to create a smooth and dimple dough. 
Add, if needed, a bit of flour and milk. Let the dough rest for about one hour. Heat the seed oil into a large pan. 
Take a spoonful of the dough and dip it into the hot oil. When the strufoli get puffy and gilded, remove them from the oil and put them on some blotting paper. Spray strufoli with Alchermes and pour over them the honey previously melted in a Bain-Marie.
