The first edition of the San Francesco Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
It will be the culmination of a work begun in 2017 with the intention of uniting sport, friendship and fraternity under Franciscan values. "I Bless You Life", I bless you life, is the message that will be launched at an international event
The appointment, with the 42,195k on the road, will involve not only the body, but also the mind and heart. Commitment, perseverance, discipline are some aspects that shape the lifestyle of a runner. The race also expresses a depth that involves the spiritual dimension, which goes beyond the physical aspect and that moves desire, joy, passion.
This event will not only be a sporting event, but will try to combine the race with solidarity. The registration will help to support some aid projects of the Diocese of Assisi and the civil institutions of the territory, especially for the most fragile.

For groups with over ten runners there is a discount of 5 euros for each race bib.

The race bib is personal and cannot be sold or exchanged. It must be attached to the chest with four brooches so as to be totally visible: it cannot be bent and must remain intact. The chip will be placed on the back of the bib and must not be removed for any reason, otherwise it will be excluded from the ranking. For the withdrawal, each athlete must show up with the confirmation letter received by email and ID - Race bibs and race bags can be collected at the Marathon Village at Hotel TH Casa Leonori in Assisi, via Giosuè Borsi 11 on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 November from 9.00 to 19.00.

The departure will take place at about 9:15 in Assisi, the arrival at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. The race will also touch the town of Spello and Cannara, touching all those places dearest to San Francesco.  
The athletes will be transported by shuttle from S. Maria degli Angeli to the starting point.

On Sunday morning there is a shuttle service from Santa Maria degli Angeli to Assisi, from 6:30 am to 7:45 am, about 15 minutes. 

The timing of the race will be by Icron Professional Timing.

The organization will make available to competitors free of charge several groups of race assistants ("pace maker"), clearly recognizable and charged with running the marathon at a constant pace to get to the finish line in the following times: 3h15 - 3h30 - 3h45 - 4h00 - 4h15 - 4h30 - 4h45 - 5h00 - 5h30 - 6h30 (closing race).
The race assistants will be presented Saturday afternoon 4 November at 16:30 at the village of San Francesco Marathon.
