Race of the Steamers - 54th edition
The Race of Steamers, the craziest race in the world, now on its 54th edition, is returning from the 15th to the 17h June 2018.
The steamers are small vehicles with metal wheels and a crew of two people (one driving and the other one pushing).
The name derives from the steam car, the “steaming machine“, that from 1902 to 1909 was the first in Italy to do regular service on the Spoleto - Norcia route.
The competition, a reckless race involving an ever increasing number of Spoleto inhabitants as well as visitors, takes place along the streets crossing the town’s historical centre.
