The "Week of Planet Earth - Italy discovering Geosciences - A more informed society is a more involved society" is a scientific festival that involves the whole of Italy and that has become the main appointment of our Geosciences.

For an entire week in October, various locations throughout the country will be animated by events aimed at spreading scientific culture, the "Geoevents": excursions, walks in urban and historic centres, open doors in museums and research centres, guided tours, exhibitions, educational and experimental workshops for children and young people, musical and artistic activities, convivial tastings, conferences, workshops and round tables.

The aim of the event is to engage young people in science, in particular in Geosciences, and to transmit enthusiasm for research and scientific discovery: for a whole week, Italy will open its doors not only to its geological and natural heritage, but also to that complex territory where geologists work every day.

Umbria also joins the initiative with a series of events from 14^th to 21^st October from San Venanzo to Spoleto, from Allerona to Spello, from Piegaro to Avigliano Umbro.
