Irish Fleadh 2025

From 2 to 5 October, the historic centre of Orvieto will immerse itself in the spirit of the fleadh, the traditional Irish festival of music, with concerts, street music, and sessions in local venues. More than fifty musicians and dancers will perform, joined by ten master artists from Ireland and Brittany, and already two hundred participants registered for the workshops.

Over four days, the festival will feature free music sessions in the town’s venues, free or subscription-based concerts at Teatro Mancinelli and Teatro del Carmine, workshops in traditional music and dance, and cultural insight meetings. Irish tutors Tola Custy (fiddle), Fonnulla Maxwell (voice), Martha Guiney (flute), Sarah O'Gorman (fiddle), Stevie Dunne (banjo), Claire McGreevy (guitar), Dermot Scheedy (bodhrán) and Daithi Keraney (traditional dances) will perform and give lessons, while the delegation of musicians from Brittany, led by Brewen Favrau (uilleann pipes) and Erwann le Creef (accordion), will represent the Breton tradition, also part of the Celtic heritage.

The programme will also include some of the most renowned Italian Irish music bands, custodians of this genre in Italy. Among them: Vincenzo Zitello, returning to the Teatro Mancinelli stage on Saturday 4 October, Birkin Tree, Eirini, The North Wind, Galantin Trio, Iris Danze Irlandesi and Pfp Trio.
