Former Spoleto-Norcia railway: indication of the sections that can be travelled

Indications on the rideable route, as per the map below.

  • Spoleto-Caprareccia (on former railway line);
  • Caprareccia - Tassinare (bypass on regional road of Forca di Cerro and municipal road to Tassinare);
  • Tassinare - San Martino (on former railway line);
  • San Martino - Sant'Anatolia di Narco station (on local road);
  • Sant'Anatolia di Narco station - Passo Stretto (on former railway line).

A section of the former Spoleto-Norcia railway currently in operation will be affected by excavation works necessary for the construction of the S.S. 685 road variant, which ANAS is carrying out in order to improve the usability and safety of the state road. These works will involve the temporary occupation of part of the former railway roadway in the section from Castel San Felice to the Vallo di Nera junction, from Monday to Friday for the period from 15 July to 13 September. During this period, construction vehicles may be present along the route, and their activity will be appropriately signalled on site.

The route of the Ex-Railway will however remain accessible to cyclists and pedestrians, and in the areas of interference, transit will be managed safely by designated personnel.
