AntiquAmeria – Amelia ai tempi di Germanico

In Amelia, on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May 2025, the First Edition of "AntiquAmeria – Amelia in the Age of Germanicus" will take place. The event celebrates the figure of Germanicus and recalls the importance of Amelia as a strategic Roman Municipality. The event will be held near the Polygonal Walls.

The historical re-enactment is set up as a real Castrum, a complete legionary camp. Tents, standards, weapons and field equipment will be displayed, with the presence of equipped legionaries who will illustrate combat tactics.

In conjunction with the event, extraordinary openings of important city archaeological sites will be possible. The Civic Archaeological Museum and Art Gallery, which houses the statue of Germanicus, will be open continuously (10:00 – 18:00). The Roman Cistern, an imposing water collection complex, will be accessible with dedicated hours (11:00 – 14:00 and 16:00 – 18:00). The Roman Domus of Palazzo Venturelli, testimony to the presence of patrician families with its mosaic floor, will also be open (10:00 to 18:00) with the possibility of guided tours.
