Industrial archaeology and Vernacular
Arrived at its fourth edition, "Industrial archaeology and Vernacular: the dialect of our traditions" is returning also this year, from the 1st to the 10th August, in one of the most inspiring dramatic setting of all times: the Upper Belvedere of the Marmore Waterfall, Parco Campacci Fifth Itinerary.
The itinerary develops on the edge of the Marmore's cliff, giving breath-taking views: in the first part it is possible to see the Terni's basin and, going on, the valley of Nera's river, some of the most beautiful Umbrian medieval villages until the Ferentillo's gorges.
Along the path there are 11 artificial wells which restored visibility to several evidences of industrial archaeology, among which the presses and the collection tanks of the Spoleto's old hydroelectric power plant. It is an authentic open-air park of industrial archaeology bringing together six big artefacts coming from the hydroelectric power plants of Galleto and Narni.
Ten evenings devoted to entertaining, thanks to the scheduled shows: all comedies are in vernacular dialect. It is a unique occasion to combine entertaining, nature, art and archaeology for discovering the roots, the history and the culture of the territory.
All is encompassed in a unique location allowing the free enjoyment of visits and theatre performances.
Here you can find the complete calendar of the festival.
