Federico Cesi Festival

Federico Cesi Festival

The many souls who live together in the Federico Cesi Festival come together in a rich artistic proposal, with over 20 evening concerts and 50 free admission events.

Great music, food and wine, exhibitions, workshops and outdoor music marathons will give life to the SOUND OF THE VILLAGES: music is here conceived not only as an act of pure art, but as fusion and celebration of the architectural and landscape beauty of cities and places in Umbria that are set like precious pearls in the Italian landscape.

Hence the project "The City that Sounds" with musical installations in the town of Trevi, but also the "Concert at Dawn" hosted in the Cloister of San Girolamo in Spello and the commitment of the Festival in support of places hit by the terrible earthquake of 2016 through the musical series "Resonate Organa".

The great soloists of the evening Main Concerts will see the return of Emma Kirkby, Marco Socias and the special participation of Paolo Conticini in "Pierino and the Wolf" by Prokofiev in Foligno.

The Festival will pay tribute to the Rossinian genius with a co-production between Italy and France for a new version of "Faith, Hope and Charity" and the performance of the impressive "Stabat Mater" for soloists, choir and orchestra; the Autumn section will include the first execution in modern times of the sacred performance "The Martyrdom of San Terenziano" by Antonio Caldara on a musical libretto by Giuseppe Piselli, a Caesarean poet from Todi.
