Each year about 2000 pupils coming from schools throughout Italy, together with their teachers, take part in this music contest that represents for the young students an opportunity to test themselves, in front of a jury and a highly qualified audience.

The contest is reserved for Musical comprehensive schools and Musical High Schools.

Concerts are held in the Church of St. Francis (in the old town, Piazza Raffaello Sanzio).
