Federico Cesi Festival
The Federico Cesi Festival celebrates its first 10 years with a special edition devoted, as always, to the classical music.
The festival includes three distinct appointments: Preview, Main Festival and Autumn.
The event is going to start from the 16th to the 23rd July with “Musicampus”, the event for under 18 that will see the young people involved in productions and concerts and that this year is going to host the first Italian edition of the “International Festival of Game & Music”, addressed to teachers, performers, musicians and amateur enthusiasts.
Instead the main festival will take place from the 15th August to the 3rd September between Trevi and Spello: 21 evening concerts will host the biggest names of the classical music including Nello Salsa, Gabriele Pieranunzi, Frank Bungarten, and other 20 afternoon concerts based on the Fh Young series, the season thought for the new emerging talents.
By tradition, alongside concerts there will be high-level improvement courses of the “Summer College”, where more than 30 scholarships will be attributed, but also recitals and concerts for soloists with orchestra for students coming from all over the world.
Furthermore the schedule includes a series of side events, such as the exhibition “Musical chimeras” and the “International Exhibition of Violin Making and plucked stringed instruments”, as well as two musical marathons, one devoted to guitar and the other one to the choral singing.
Finally there will be Autumn, the autumnal section focused on the sacred music: it will open in Terni with the Requiem Mass composed by W. A. Mozart for solos, choir and orchestra and it will close with the organ exhibition “Resonate Organa” that will involve all the diocese of Orvieto - Todi.
