On 14 August 2025, the town of Gubbio hosts one of its most representative re-enactments: the Torneo dei Quartieri, a traditional fixed-position Italian crossbow tournament featuring the city's four historical districts – Sant’Andrea, San Giuliano, San Martino and San Pietro.

The event takes place in Piazza Grande and is preceded by a historical parade in medieval costume through the town centre. The parade is judged by a panel of experts based on historical accuracy, style and originality, contributing to the final victory.

In the days leading up to the tournament, each district organises medieval-style festivities in its square, with traditional food, music and open-air games, creating an atmosphere of widespread participation for both residents and visitors.
