In Gualdo Tadino, the "Giochi de le Porte" (Games of the Gates) will take place from September 27th to 29th. On September 27th, the event opens with the Vivandieri (Provisioners) procession and the exchange of gifts, followed by the handing over of the city keys and the opening of the four Taverns. The evening concludes with the performance of the Drummers of the Ente Giochi (Games Authority) and the four Gates, and with the show of the Flag-wavers and Musicians of Gualdo Tadino. On September 28th, in addition to the shooting trials of the slingers and archers of each Gate, the crossbow shooting competition will be held, with the winner escorting the Palio after the award ceremony. On the same evening, about a thousand figures in period costumes representing allegorical scenes or daily life of the 15th century will parade in the Historical Procession of the four Gates, accompanied by handcrafted carts. The day concludes with the reading of the challenge proclamations by the Priors of the four Gates. The last day of the event, September 29th, begins with the weighing of the carts and the awarding of the Historical Procession, followed by the Solemn Mass at the Co-cathedral of San Benedetto. In the afternoon, the entrance of the historical procession in honor of the protagonists of the Games and the representation of the Guilds or aspects related to the historical period, the blessing of the jugglers, and the start of the competitions will be witnessed.
