E poi scende la sera che accende mille fuochi 2025
On August 10, 2025, in the heart of Perugia, e poi scende la sera che accende mille fuochi will take place — a musical event that brings together baroque repertoire and contemporary songwriting in two distinct performances connected by a common theme: the relationship between water and fire, memory, and the emotional continuity of music.
At 8:00 p.m., in the Cloister of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the Chamber Orchestra of Perugia, conducted by Christian Schmitt, who also performs on oboe, will present a program entirely devoted to Georg Friedrich Händel. Opening with the Concerto for Oboe No. 3 in G minor HWV 287, the evening continues with two of his most iconic compositions: Water Music (Suite No. 1 in F major HWV 348) and Music for the Royal Fireworks (in D major HWV 351). The concert is free of charge while seats last and will also be livestreamed from the stage in Piazza IV Novembre.
Starting at 10:00 p.m., in Piazza IV Novembre, the event continues with a tribute to Paolo Benvegnù, a singer-songwriter who passed away on December 31, 2024. The concert, titled Piccole fragilissime note, will be performed by the Orchestra Multietnica di Arezzo conducted by Enrico Fink, together with the band I Benvegnù and the special participation of Neri Marcorè.
