52nd Fagioli Trophy

The 52nd Luigi Fagioli Trophy is a speed hill climb car race, valid as ninth round of the Italian Speed Mountain Championship and for the Italian Speed North and South Mountain Trophy, organized by the Gubbio Motor Racing Committee and open also to twin-cylinder bikes and to historical cars. 


The special prize for the Cip Trophy disabled pilots has been confirmed within the event and the award of the Pietro and Angelo Barbetti Memorial to the pilot Davide Valsecchi is expected to occur on Friday 18th August at 9 pm at the former Monastery of St. Benedict.

The Fagioli Trophy, recognized by many as “Montecarlo of the uphill”, will be contended along the itinerary of 4150 metres that from the Gubbio characteristic historical centre, that also hosts the headquarters and the paddock, climbs to Madonna della Cima through the Gorge of Bottaccione, world-class naturalistic and geological site.  

The schedule follows. 


Friday 18th August

3.30 pm - 7.30 pm: sporting and technical checks 

9 pm: Award of the Pietro and Angelo Barbetti Memorial

 

Saturday 19th August

10 am: First official practice

2.30 pm: Second official practice

 

Sunday 20th August

9.30 am: First race and later Second Race

5 pm: awards at the cloister of the former St.Benedict Monastery

 

During the competition the public can access the finish area and the final corners, passing through Scheggia using free shuttles, and to the area of St. Ubaldo Junction by using the big streets of the Ingino mountain.

Also this year the installation of two fixed stands has been confirmed : one at the crossroads for St. Ubaldo and the second one outside the third corner near the arrival. Furthermore new natural stands have been built near the corner and the St. Ubaldo junction.
