UNTO 2026

In Assisi, from October 22 to November 28, UNTO (Unesco, Natura, Territorio, Olio) returns for its fourteenth edition as part of the regional Frantoi Aperti circuit. The initiative celebrates the harvest of new olive oil, highlighting the area's rural landscape and historic heritage. The central program takes place from October 28 to November 1 in the historic town center: Piazza del Comune hosts the open market featuring local producers alongside complimentary shuttle services to visit working olive mills and witness the pressing process. The municipal palace welcomes expert-led tastings and free admission concerts, while local restaurants offer dedicated seasonal dishes and themed menus. The calendar also features art exhibitions, children's reading sessions, guided tours of the Domus Romane and Rocca Maggiore, and the presentation of the Premio Falchetti. Over the following weeks, the event travels through surrounding hamlets and villages, including Castelnuovo, Costa di Trex, Tordibetto, Palazzo, Santa Maria degli Angeli, Torchiagina, San Vitale, Petrignano, and Capodacqua. Across these stops, visitors can join walks among olive groves, guided hikes on Monte Subasio, e-bike rides along the terraced olive belt, olive-harvesting activities, and community gatherings dedicated to rural traditions.
