On Sunday 24 May at 12 pm, Piazza Duomo in Orvieto hosts the traditional Flight of the Palombella, an event connected to the celebrations of Pentecost. The ceremony symbolically recreates the descent of the Holy Spirit through the flight of a dove suspended along a cable stretched between the Cathedral and the square, following a long-standing local tradition.
