Spello Splendens

From January 4 to 7, "Spello Splendens", now in its 7th edition, will promote once again the knowledge of ancient melodies inspired to Christmas: it's a unique occasion in the international scene to listen to sounds of instruments of other times such as bagpipes and pipes.

For 2016 the festival decided to dedicate a space to the Amatrice area: indeed this area preserved an ancient bagpipe, called shawm, linked to one of most archaic Italian traditions.

Two exceptional poets will come from the Amatrice area: they are improvisers of the octuplets, the higher and most ancient poetic form left that is combined with music: the song of the classical Greek singers.

There will certainly be conferences, books' presentations, masterclasses and many concerts with the best Italian soloists and groups.
