Ameria Festival
For over a month, from the 22nd September to the 29th October, the fascinating territory of Amerino is going to host concerts, theatre performances, conferences and many other initiatives thanks to the 2017 edition of the “Ameria Festival”.
For five weekends, the programme of each weekend will include a series of events devoted to music, from the opera to jazz and prose, as well as to the discovery of Amelia.
This year’s festival is going to open on the 22nd September with an excellent Rigoletto: Luca Grassi, famous multi-prize winning baritone will dress up on the stage as the most famous hunchback of the opera.
The big names of this edition include: Peppe Servillo, who will offer a very personal reinterpretation of the “Hystoire du Soldat" (“A soldier story”) in Neapolitan and Enrico Lo Verso, who will stage a particular theatrical adaptation of the Pirandello’s "Uno, nessuno, centomila". (“One, no-one and one hundred thousand”).
Other prose shows on schedule are: “Social houses”, a successful tragicomic work by Nicola Pistoia and Francesco Stella, and "Taxi a due piazze" (“One double-size taxi”), an hilarious comedy by Ray Cooney.
Space will also be given to the contemporary music with the incomparable Antonello Salis, in an evening totally devoted to jazz, Salvatore Sciarrino and Denis Schuler, in a concert of flute music.
There will be two closing musical appointments: the first one dedicated to the classical repertoire with the Ensemble Berlin; the other one with the Umbrian Symphonic Band.
In line with tradition, the weekly cultural initiatives are going to offer meetings with academics and scholars in the unique setting provided by the historical palaces of Ameria.
