In Piana, a hamlet of Castiglione del Lago, Stramaialata takes place from 4 to 9 August, a festival dedicated to eating well “as in the past”. At the heart of the event is pork, a typical product of Umbrian tradition, served in dishes prepared with ingredients from local farms.

Founded in 2009, the festival brings together food, conviviality and community participation. Alongside the food offer, the programme includes music, dancing and entertainment, with different activities depending on the evening.

One of the distinctive features of the festival is the involvement of the local residents, who take part in welcoming visitors and organising the event. Among its most recognisable elements is the Stra-navetta, a shuttle service that takes visitors from the car park to the festival area.
