San Gemini Classic 2026
San Gemini hosts the 26th edition of Sangemini Classic – Little Festival of True Art on 15, 21 and 28 July. Held in Piazza Duomo, the festival brings together music, spirituality and culture through a series of evening performances.
Under the artistic direction of pianist Virna Liurni, this year’s edition is inspired by the theme “In the Spirit of Francis” and features three concerts exploring the relationship between artistic expression, tradition and cultural reflection. The opening event, The Black Madonna & The Taranta, with Alessandra Belloni, Giovannangelo De Gennaro and Antonio Marotta, combines the musical traditions of Southern Italy with the spirituality associated with the Black Madonna.
The second evening features the Musical Chapel of the Papal Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, presenting “Tribute to the Franciscan Centenary Celebrations”, conducted by Father Peter Hrdy with organist Alessia Cecchetti. The festival concludes with The Sound of the Image – Genesis of a Film Score, in which composer Paolo Vivaldi performs with the Augusteo Soloists, exploring the lives and achievements of major figures in Italian history and culture.
All performances begin at 9:40 p.m. Admission is ticketed, with limited seating available for individual concerts or for the full festival.
