From 10 to 13 and from 17 to 20 September, Assisi and the Basilica of Saint Francis host the twelfth edition of Cortile di Francesco, entitled Una bella notizia. Marking the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Francis, the event explores life from an integrated perspective, bringing together happiness, well-being, culture, spirituality and fraternity, with reference to the biblical concept of Shalom. The programme combines talks, music, theatre and public discussions. Highlights include a concert by Giovanni Allevi on 13 September, the performance Occhi e gabbie – La cella che chiude / la cella che salva by the #SIneNOmine theatre company on 18 September, and, on 19 September, a discussion on artificial intelligence with Paolo Benanti and other guests, together with the presentation of the Polisophia project and the book Il Pendolo dell’algoritmo. On the same day, Don Cosimo Schena will meet young people and adults to discuss relationships, faith and spirituality. The programme also includes Assisi4life, focusing on physical activity, nutrition and sustainable lifestyles. The event concludes on 20 September with Sia Laudato San Francesco, a journey through popular devotion and music in the historic centre and the Upper Basilica, featuring lauds, Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony.
