Poster of Anafora in Spoleto

Anafora 2026

In Spoleto, from 27 June to 10 January, the Piano Nobile of Palazzo Collicola hosts Anafora, a solo exhibition by Giuseppe Penone curated by Saverio Verini.

The exhibition presents a selection of the artist’s sculptures in the palace’s historic rooms, between the Hall of Honour and the Gallery of the Piano Nobile. The works enter into dialogue with the spaces and bring together matter, nature and architecture.

In the Hall of Honour, Albero welcomes visitors with its monumental presence. In the Gallery, the sculptures are arranged along the large windows, creating a connection between interior and exterior. The title Anafora refers to the rhythm of the exhibition route and guides visitors through key themes in Penone’s practice: roots, the transformation of matter and the relationship between human beings and the environment.

The project also continues in other places in the city. In Piazza Pianciani, Le foglie delle radici, a bronze sculpture conceived for public space, is on view until 12 July. The Baptistery of Manna d’Oro hosts Epheměris until 2 August, a selection of seven videos dedicated to the artist’s creative process.
