1000 Sassi 2026
From 28 May to 2 June, Orvieto serves as the base for 1000 SASSI, a non-competitive adventure motorcycle touring event recognised and authorised by the Italian Motorcycling Federation.
The route winds through the most scenic backroads of Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany: approximately 70–75% of the total distance runs on gravel, with the remaining 25–30% on tarmac. A few days before the event, participants receive a GPX track and an electronic roadbook from the organisers to navigate independently.
Three of the five stages are completely new; the first two partly revisit routes that proved most popular in previous editions. Four participation formats are available. 1000 SASSI VIP covers all five stages for approximately 1,200 km in total, from 29 May to 2 June. 1000 SASSI EXPLORER includes three stages and around 738 km, from 31 May to 2 June. 1000 SASSI SMART offers two stages and roughly 490 km on 1 and 2 June. 1000 SASSI ONE DAY is a single-stage loop of approximately 230 km on 2 June, ideal for those with limited time.
Awards for the best vintage, historic and rally motorcycles will be presented on the evening of Monday 1 June.
