ASSISI - SANTUARIO DELLA VERNA - PIEVE SANTO STEFANO (approx. 15 km)

Arrive in Assisi early in the morning, leave the car and drive to the Sanctuary of La Verna. From here we start the walk in the direction of Pieve Santo Stefano

Day 2

CITERNA - CITTA DI CASTELLO (approx. 20 km)

AVERAGE - 7 HOURS.

Transfer from Pieve Santo Stefano to the starting point in Citerna, then on to Città di Castello

Overnight stay and dinner.

Day 3

PIETRALUNGA - GUBBIO (approx. 26 km)

AVERAGE - 8 HOURS

Transfer from Città di Castello to the starting point of Pietralunga, then on to Gubbio

Overnight stay and dinner.

Day 4

GUBBIO - VALFABBRICA (approx. 30 km)

MEDIUM/DIFFICULT - 8 HOURS

In the morning sightseeing tour of the town with the Gubbio Express

Each evening of the itinerary the overnight stay is foreseen at structures such as the Refectory of the Pilgrim at the Sanctuary of La Verna, 3/2 star hotels, farm holiday centres and rooms to let, along the route of the Saint Francis Way, which have availability, thus guaranteeing an overnight stay and dinner in the structure each night.

The two journeys we would normally suggest by car between Pieve Santo Stefano - Citerna and between Città di Castello - Pietralunga are included because, according to many who have travelled the Via, the route is demanding and above all because it would force us to add two further overnight stays.
