Piegaro wurde 290 v. Chr. von den Römern am Fluss Nestore gegründet. Im 13. Jahrhundert wurde es als Lehen an Orvieto übertragen, und aus dieser Zeit stammt der Beginn der edlen Kunst der Glasbearbeitung: Jedes Jahr Ende Mai findet im Glasmuseum ein Festival statt. In der Umgebung des Ortes, in der Ortschaft Pietrafitta, befinden sich die Benediktinerabtei „Sette Fratelli“, die Ruinen eines Franziskanerklosters und die Kirche Santa Maria Assunta, in der ein wertvolles Holzkreuz aus dem 17. Jahrhundert aufbewahrt wird. Auf dem Gemeindegebiet befindet sich außerdem die archäologische Stätte „Città di Fàllera“, eine antike Siedlung aus der Eisenzeit.

In this scenario we will set up, as far as possible, collaborative networks, as well as suppliers and/or collaborators and other collaborations useful for the realisation of the activity itself.Lastly, we highlight the possibility of joining groups and consortia, which offer, especially in the initial stages, anything that may be useful and effective for the realisation of the social purpose.It follows that our first intention will be to have a corporate structure operating in the tourism sector, as a starting point, and which will then be able to create networks in all related sectors.

Rundwanderung *Besuch des Paläontologischen Museums „Luigi Boldrini“, das eine der bedeutendsten Fossiliensammlungen Europas beherbergt. Von dort aus gelangt man zum Pietrafitta-See, der am Fuße der Ortschaft in der Nähe des modernen Wärmekraftwerks liegt. Der weitläufige Stausee wird vom Fluss Nestore gespeist und erstreckt sich über 110 Hektar mit 6 km begehbaren Ufern. Der See ist nicht nur ein hervorragender Ort zum Karpfenangeln und für sportliche Aktivitäten, sondern umfasst auch einen geschützten Bereich, der für die Brut von Wasservögeln und die Fortpflanzung von Fischen reserviert ist.
