Gala concert - Aprile Millo
Città della Pieve, homeland of Perugino, will host on the next 5th July an exclusive and unrepeatable event: the big Italian-American soprano Aprile Millo will hold a recital at the Theatre of Avvaloranti, an eighteenth century jewel, where theatrical and musical seasons of the Umbrian town are held.
Millo, one among the most ever beautiful voices and unquestioned protagonist of the opera seasons all over the world, is considered the “golden voice star”.
She sang in beyond 180 performances in 15 different roles from the Metropolitan in New York and triumphed in the theatres of Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Barcelona, Vienna, Zurich, Paris, Orange, Moscow, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Santiago, Buenos-Aires, Parma, Bologna, Rome, Turin, Verona and naturally at the Scala Theatre in Milan.
She had as musical conductors Karajan, Muti, Sinopoli, Levine and has been chosen by Franco Zeffirelli to dub Elizabeth Taylor in the movie “The young Toscanini”.
She has been praised by the critics for her recordings of Aida, Don Carlo, Trobadour, A Masked Ball and Luisa Miller alongside Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo. And this is just a tasting of her incredible career.
Aprile Millo, for the recital in Città della Pieve, will propose pages of Verdi, Puccini, Bellini, Strauss and Rachmaninov and many others in a musical journey around the world.
Besides her there will be the Italian-Canadian soprano Mary-Lou Vetere, the baritone Sergio Bologna and the pianist Vincenzo Scalera.
