European Heritage Days
The "European Heritage Days" are celebrated on the 19th and 20th September with special openings of places that are not usually open to the public, with guided visits to archaeological sites, monuments and museums.
The initiative, which involves archives, foundations, libraries and galleries, proposes cultural opportunities that include almost a thousand events throughout Italy, taking you on a journey to discover the country's artistic beauties.
In the year of Expo 2015, the theme chosen for this edition, is "Nutrition and the history of Europe", a topic that has always been intrinsically linked to Italy's identity and past.
Umbria is also taking part in this special event. There are appointments across the region, from the Regional Museum of Ceramics in Deruta, to the Rocca Albornoziana in Spoleto, from Palazzo Ducale in Gubbio, to the State Archives in Assisi, allowing you to discover its cultural, artistic and historical treasures.
