Along the Colli del Trasimeno Wine Route.

An itinerary entirely devoted to the flavours and aromas of the region, with culture and a little physical activity providing an enjoyable complement to the true protagonist: the outstanding food and wine heritage of the Colli del Trasimeno Wine Route.

We recommend allowing at least two days for this itinerary: wineries, olive mills and traditional restaurants are well worth exploring at a leisurely pace. A summary is provided at the end for those who prefer to fit the entire itinerary into a single day.

Useful Information and Recommendations

Did you know? The Gamay del Trasimeno you will have the opportunity to taste has nothing to do with the French Gamay of Beaujolais. Its ancestors arrived here from Spain around 1600—it is a Grenache variety—and its presence was later consolidated by Sardinian shepherds during transhumance. Tasting this wine means experiencing a piece of migration history, together with mysteries that are still waiting to be explored.
