Tramonti sull’Alfina: camminare e guardare
In Castel Viscardo, on Saturday 11 July, the ninth edition of Tramonti sull’Alfina: Walking and Looking takes place, a literary hike combining walking, literature and music along a 9-kilometre route with an elevation gain of approximately 200 metres. The programme begins at 5:30 pm at the Ethnographic and Terracotta Museum, where participants are welcomed before the start of the event. At 6:00 pm, the Leopoldo Sandri Municipal Library presents a series of readings dedicated to the landscape and the concept of paesology, including a tribute to the work of Franco Arminio. Between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm the walk begins, crossing cultivated fields, woodland and rural areas of the Alfina Plateau.
Along the route, participants can enjoy views of Orvieto and traces of Etruscan and Roman settlements before reaching a panoramic point overlooking Mount Amiata, Mount Labbro and Mount Cetona at sunset. At 8:00 pm, a stop in Citerno includes additional literary readings. The hike concludes at 9:30 pm in Monte Peccio, where refreshments and a folk music performance by the Compagnia de la Panatella provide the closing moment of the event. Refreshments are available by reservation only, with a participation fee of €10 and limited places.
