We are in the Monte Cucco Regional Park and in this protected area the rapid torrent of the Rio Freddo has its source. Starting from the central square of the small mountain village of Pascelupo, you can take a panoramic path immersed in a thick wood that leads to the Valle delle Prigioni, a gorge surrounded by high rock walls generated by the erosive action of the watercourse, an ideal destination for canyoning enthusiasts. The itinerary continues to the Scarpa del Diavolo, an imposing sloping rock mass that can also be reached via a tunnel carved into the rock.

On the slopes of Monte Pennino, near Bagnara, in the territory of Nocera Umbra, the Topino river originates, with a geological history dating back millions of years. As a result of various changes over the ages, the river had to overcome a large jump of about 80 metres, forming the Ferce Falls. Starting from the spring locality, following the signs, after a short walk, one arrives at this natural spectacle among deep gorges and ancient rocks.

Among the high hills of Foligno, near Sellano, rises the Menotre River. Its course is interesting, passing through several villages, including Rasiglia, the little Venice of Umbria, known for being crossed by numerous streams and watercourses. After taking a stroll through the village among its springs, you can pick up the car and head towards Pale. At the height of the nearby village of Belfiore, in the Altolina Park, a path leads to the point where the river generates no less than three jumps, creating the Menotre Waterfalls.

In the province of Terni, in the mediaeval village of Monteleone d'Orvieto, the Nestore river rises and flows through the entire area before flowing into the Tiber near Marsciano. For the more trained and keen cyclists, a long stretch can be covered on a road bike, pedalling through the hilly landscape of the Nestore Valley, among castles and small villages, up to Monte Peglia, where a splendid panorama can be admired.
