Subasio con Gusto

There are almost eighty species of edible wild herbs which grow on the slopes of Monte Subasio: learning to look for, recognise and cook them is the aim of "Subasio con Gusto", from the 31st March to the 3rd April in Spello.

 
 

The festival is a great opportunity to discover an ancient culinary tradition from the farming culture, which today represents a natural heritage to be protected.

Over the four days of events it will be possible to try the most highly prized herbs from Umbria, bringing together the environment, food and wine.

There are many initiatives planned: guided visits, film screenings, in-depth studies dedicated to techniques to recognise and harvest the wild herbs, excursions with itinerant lectures, photography walks, seminars, a fair and exhibitions, as well as culinary arts, cooking shows and entertainment.

Moreover, the 2016 edition is planning some new events, giving space to phytotherapy, herbal medicine and cosmetics.
