At the Teatro Mancinelli in Orvieto, from 2 October to 17 April, the new theatre season marks 160 years since the first performance at the “Nuovo Teatro”, the starting point of the city venue’s history. The programme spans drama, classics, comedy and contemporary theatre, with 11 subscription shows preceded by a special preview. On 2 October Giovanni Scifoni presents “Frà – San Francesco, la superstar del Medioevo”. The subscription season opens on 31 October and 1 November with “E fuori nevica”, written and performed by Vincenzo Salemme, followed on 22 November by “Sei personaggi in cerca d’autore” with Primo Reggiani and Jane Alexander. On 4 December Cristiana Capotondi stars in “L’attrice”. The programme continues on 21 January with “Io, Charles”, featuring Marco Bocci and Pia Lanciotti, and on 31 January with “Terzo tempo”, starring Paolo Hendel and Lucia Vasini. On 13 February Ariele Vincenti presents “Marcinelle, storie di minatori”, while 21 February brings “Elettra 1944” with Pamela Villoresi, Giulio Corso, Francesco Foti and Alice Spisa. On 12 March Paola Minaccioni takes the stage in “La vita è bella? No, è un tipo”, followed on 20 March by “L’avaro immaginario” with Enzo De Caro. On 11 April Rocío Muñoz Morales, Giorgio Lupano and Gabriele Pignotta perform “Contrazioni pericolose”; the season closes on 17 April with Fabio Canino in “Il brutto anatroccolo”.
