Palio delle Fonti
On August 27 and 28 Fontignano, belonging to the Perugia's municipality, will take a step back in time with the "Palio delle Fonti", going back to the Renaissance Epoch and reviving the days when the famous painter il Perugino stayed in the area.
The two village's quarters, Castello and Hospitale, will be animated with dames, knights, medieval markets and historical parades with ancient medieval cantors and will face each other in challenges and fights to try to impose their supremacy.
Among the main scheduled appointments, don't miss out on the historical dinner laying on the table a Renaissance and Medieval menu to enjoy with a background of juggling and musical intermezzos.
It's a two-day festival among historical dishes and food inspired by Perugino epoch's recipes. Perugino, the "Divine Painter" made his last artwork exactly in Fontignano, in the St. Annunziata "small church".
