From August 27–30 and September 3–6, Deruta hosts the Palio della Brocca, an event in which the city’s districts compete in a series of contests inspired by local traditions. Now in its eighteenth edition, the festival brings the historic centre to life with activities focused on history, entertainment and community participation.

The heart of the event is Piazza dei Consoli, where the main activities take place and where the competition between the three historic districts—Piazza, Valle and Borgo—comes to life. For the occasion, the streets and squares of the town become the setting for a celebration that reflects the history and identity of Deruta.

Alongside the contests, the programme features live events, music and performances every evening, creating opportunities for residents and visitors to gather and enjoy the festivities. A central role is also played by the District Taverns, where visitors can sample traditional Umbrian dishes and local specialities in a welcoming atmosphere.
