Mostra Internazionale di Arte Presepiale 2026
In Città di Castello, from November 28 to January 10, the 25th Mostra Internazionale di Arte Presepiale (International Exhibition of Nativity Scene Art) will take place, hosted in the crypt of the Cathedral Basilica. The exhibition brings together around 150 works representing the main Italian nativity scene traditions, with an entire wing reserved for Neapolitan nativity scenes created with the contribution of associations from Naples and Irpinia. The itinerary features works by nativity scene masters, painters, artists, and hobbyists from various regions, including Veneto, Lazio, Tuscany, and Marche, alongside national museum and associative organizations. Among the installations on display are a commemorative section dedicated to Sandro Epi, the work Nativity in the Quarry of the Well of Orvieto (Natività nella Cava del Pozzo di Orvieto), the large mechanical nativity scene Il Presepe de La Penna from Penna in Teverina, and a series of artifacts that recreate scenes of daily life, traditions, and culture of Città di Castello.
