Città di Castello and several towns in the Upper Tiber Valley host the 59th edition of the Festival of Nations from 27 August to 11 September, dedicated to Germany and German-speaking countries. The festival explores musical traditions, composers and repertoires connected to the German cultural area, with events taking place in theatres, churches, museums and historic venues throughout the region.

The programme brings together international performers and ensembles in concerts ranging from chamber music and orchestral repertoire to contemporary music and multidisciplinary projects. Highlights include tributes to Ludwig van Beethoven, programmes dedicated to Kurt Weill, explorations of Viennese musical traditions and performances spanning several centuries of music history.

Alongside the concerts, the festival also presents educational activities and events hosted in various locations across Umbria, including Città di Castello, Citerna, Montone, Umbertide, Pietralunga, San Giustino, Monte Santa Maria Tiberina and Lisciano Niccone.
