Feast of Saints Vittore and Fulgenzio

Otricoli (Umbria) celebrates the Patron Saints Vittore and Fulgenzio on May 13 and 14 with a program combining historical reenactment and religious events. On the evening of May 13, the community gathers along the Tiber River for the reenactment of the martyrdom of Saint Vittore, a key moment in local tradition.

The event begins with the arrival of the Saint’s statue by boat, accompanied by torches. It continues with a staged performance recreating the martyrdom in a Roman setting, featuring historical costumes and scenic elements. The narrative also includes Saint Corona, linked to the story of sacrifice and faith.

At the end of the reenactment, a procession leads participants to the Collegiate Church along an illuminated path. On May 14, celebrations continue with a solemn mass at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta and a procession through the town carrying the Saint’s relic.
