In Tuoro sul Trasimeno, from 30 July to 15 August, Ferragosto Toreggiano offers a programme spread across the historic centre, Parco il Sodo, Piazza del Municipio, the Rondò, the municipal stadium and the lakeside cycle area. The event brings together district dinners and celebrations, live music, sporting activities, crafts and events connected with local history. The programme begins with the Colonna district celebration and continues with the Trasimena evening, the “Le mani delle donne” exhibition of women’s crafts and the Hannibal Race for children. Other events include an aperitif followed by a night-time mountain bike gathering, the Malpasso district festival, a music night and the Val Romana celebration featuring an 883 tribute band and a DJ set. Further appointments include a district performance, a Candle Music concert dedicated to Ennio Morricone, the “La corsa di Annibale” running race and the historical dinner “A cena con Flaminio”. The programme ends with the opening challenge between the districts, the district Palio and chariot-pulling contest, and the “Made in Japan” Notte Toreggiana.
