In Castelluccio di Norcia (PG), within the Sibillini Mountains between Umbria and Marche, Castelluccio degli Eroi takes place on August 30 as a self-supported bikepacking brevet covering approximately 143 km with 3,800 meters of elevation gain to be completed within 24 hours.

The route crosses the plateau of Castelluccio, linking the valleys of Norcia, Visso and Arquata del Tronto. It includes several major and secondary climbs and passes through Pian Grande and Pian Piccolo, with repeated sections near the village of Castelluccio di Norcia, in a high-altitude environment with varied terrain and elevation changes.

Participants can start freely from different valley locations and ride completely unsupported. Navigation is based on GPS tracks or a road book provided by the organization, and activity is recorded through tracking systems.

The brevet is an endurance challenge at self-selected pace, requiring completion within the time limit while following the official route. After verification of the data, finishers are listed as Heroes of Castelluccio and receive an official digital recognition.
