Assisi Pax Mundi 2026

In Assisi, from 15 to 18 October, Assisi Pax Mundi, the international festival dedicated to Franciscan sacred music, returns for its thirteenth edition. Choirs and performers from different countries gather in the city's Franciscan sites to share a musical experience centred on listening and participation.

This edition is dedicated to the theme "Sister Bodily Death", chosen to mark the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Francis. Concerts and celebrations will guide audiences through a programme that brings together music, spirituality and reflection, recalling the values of fraternity and dialogue.

Events will take place throughout the day in Franciscan locations in Assisi and the surrounding area. Highlights include the final concert on 17 October and the closing Eucharistic Celebration on 18 October at the Basilica of Saint Francis, featuring all participating choirs. At the end of the celebration, the choirs will perform Father Domenico Stella's Canticle of the Creatures together.
