In Amelia, from 26 July to 13 September, the Teatro Sociale hosts AENIGMA. Germanicus. The Colossus of Amelia, a photographic exhibition by Maurizio Galimberti, curated by Fabrizio Razza, dedicated to the celebrated bronze statue of Germanicus preserved in the city’s Civic Archaeological Museum.

The exhibition brings together archaeology and contemporary photography, inspired by the discovery of the statue in 1963, when it was unearthed in more than sixty fragments before being painstakingly restored and reassembled. Using his signature photographic mosaic technique, Galimberti breaks the image into multiple photographs, offering new perspectives and revealing details of the sculpture.

Covering approximately 40 square metres, the installation occupies the stalls of the Teatro Sociale, where the suspended panels can also be viewed from the theatre’s balconies, allowing visitors to appreciate both the individual images and the complete composition.
