Prati di Stroncone

A few kilometers from the medieval village of Stroncone and the city of Terni lies a vast, lush plateau at an altitude of about 1,000 meters.

Curiosities and points of interest Marmore Waterfall (Terni) One of the highest waterfalls in Europe, created by the Romans in 271 BC to reclaim the Rieti Plain. A fascinating journey through history, science, and mystery. Park Documentation Center (Collestatte) A museum dedicated to the flora, fauna, and history of the Nera River Park. Here, visitors can learn everything about the park's ecosystem and its unique characteristics. Polino: the smallest village in Umbria Clinging to the side of a mountain, Polino is a medieval village offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. A park to experience The Nera River Park is not just a protected area: thanks to the Park Consortium, established in 1995, environmental and cultural revitalisation projects have been carried out, including the restoration of thematic trails and the promotion of organic farming. How to get there: By car: The park is easily accessible from Terni, just a few kilometers away. By train: Terni's train station is well connected to Rome and other major cities.
