An 800-metre journey deep underground, a trip into the bowels of Monte Cucco that winds its way through stalactites and stalagmites, tunnels, labyrinths and passageways, to discover a world that many have only ever imagined. A journey to the centre of the earth that becomes a journey through nature, into the heart of the mountain and into one’s own senses, where the perception of space changes, silence holds a thousand sounds and meanings, and the darkness – when, for a moment, the lights go out – reveals all its nuances to our astonished eyes.

The excursion does not include lunch.

Hikes are permitted for those aged 8 and over, and minors must always be accompanied by a responsible adult – pets are not allowed – please do not bring bulky rucksacks, but rather small daypacks for personal belongings: we recommend bringing water and a snack (there are no refreshment points or water sources along the route), sunglasses and also a pair of gardening gloves to protect your hands from the cold of the handrails on the steps and walkways. - The walk is not suitable for those with severe physical disabilities – the temperature inside is cold and constant throughout the year; even in summer it is around 6°C with humidity close to 100 per cent. The temperature difference between the outdoor and indoor sections, particularly in the summer months, is significant – you’ll need to dress in layers, suitable for an easy mountain hike, trekking boots or trainers with sturdy, treaded soles, long, comfortable trousers, a T-shirt (and a spare in case you need to change), a jumper or fleece, and a light jacket or rain jacket for inside the cave. -

The total duration of the excursion is 2/3 hours, and it includes a guided walking tour from Pian di Monte and the visit inside the cave. The path to reach the entrance is eight hundred metres long. Once there, a journey into the heart of Mount Cucco begins. You'll be walking by stalactites and stalagmites, large rooms, labyrinths and tunnels to discover a world that you only dreamt about.A walk through the centre of the mountain is the most complete experience to stay in touch with nature. The caves, where the perception of space is alterated by the lack of reference points, will embrace you into a silence that you've nevere experienced before and the deep darkness that our guides create by turning off the lights for  a few seconds is definately one thing you must experience at least once in your life.
