Why 'The Jurist'? Because we are on Bartolo Street. We have decided to dedicate the name of our restaurant to the famous Bartolo da Sassoferrato. Born in the city in the Marche region of Italy in 1314 and died in Perugia in 1357, Bartolo was one of the most distinguished Italian jurists in 14th century Europe. His fame among the law students of the generations of those centuries was enormous, as witnessed by the famous adage: nemo bonus íurista nisi sit bartolista (one cannot be a good jurist if he is not a bartolista, i.e. a follower of Bartolo).
