Careful restoration has allowed the preservation of the historical elements of an ancient building that was built, in the form of a tower, as a "border post" and control post, along the route that wayfarers were forced to follow to avoid the marshy lands of the "guado", the plant from which dye was obtained for fabrics.The 16th-century tower, which overlooks a short stretch of the ancient road, stood on the border of the territories subject to the Castles of Mantignana and Caligiana, was enlarged and incorporated into the country residence and is now an integral part of the accommodation facility. The feeling you get in this romantic place is that of being in a small hamlet where life was once marked by the changing of the seasons and agricultural activities. For those who know how to "listen", it will be possible to relive atmospheres and pieces of daily life of those who, in past centuries, inhabited this place steeped in history, often with great sacrifice but always with extreme dignity: the stones and bricks will be the witnesses. The agriturismo is a starting point for the main tourist destinations in Umbria and Tuscany, such as Assisi, Perugia, Lake Trasimeno, Gubbio, Todi, Città di Castello, Cortona, Arezzo and the medieval villages rich in historical and artistic traditions. The farm that hosts the agritourism is now dedicated to the cultivation of centuries-old olive trees, which cover the hill on which the accommodation facility stands. From the cultivation of the olive trees a high quality organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced.
