Palazzo Brunamonti stands on the site of the former Roman baths of Mevania. Two thousand years of history, layer upon layer, beneath the very same bricks. As you climb the stairs, your hands brush against the medieval walls that have supported this house for eight hundred years. In the rooms, the vaulted ceilings and solid wood furnishings preserve the atmosphere of the home of Alinda Bonacci Brunamonti, a poet, intellectual and courageous woman of nineteenth-century Umbria. Today, just as then, you are welcomed here as guests of the family, not as numbers on a booking list.
