Since the 11th century, this fortress has guarded the ancient road from Perugia to Gubbio.its thousand-year-old stones tell its story. In 1422 Federico da Montefeltro, exalted Lord of the Renaissance and Duke of Urbino, was born here. Today it relives its ancient splendour to welcome travellers of the 21st century.

Thanks to careful restoration, the Castle's 16 rooms have retained a strong historical character and now appear as works of art with their frescoed ceilings, wooden beams and stone arches still intact; on the walls are ancient prints and paintings. The Castle offers a romantic and comfortable setting in which to enjoy a noble experience, as true Lords of the Castle.
